Thoughts
I've been buying options on individual companies, but I question if this is the right approach. I believe I need to buy options on sectors using ETFs. During this recent market downturn, the financial and real estate sectors have performed poorly. Also, this strategy will allow me to short certain sectors using these as well. This is valuable because my employer account doesn't allow options trading.
On another note, I've been thinking about what I know. I knew the home builders and mortgage business have been weak. Foreclosures rates have been increasing and I've witnessed this, however, I didn't position myself to profit from this. I need to make sure I capitalize on this in the future. So how do I apply that to things I know currently?
1. The Olympics are coming to China
- huge construction buildout
- advertising increase
- mobile phone usage should increase
- increased travel and spending
Valuable Market Info
